    IIGCC Policy programme meeting

    Following the momentous result of the COP in Paris, in particular an agreement on climate neutrality in the second half of the century and a tightening of the temperature goal far below 2 degrees or even 1.5 degrees C, the European Union is starting to analyse the implications this has for the EU’s 2030 climate-energy framework. All IIGCC members are invited to hear a quarterly update and join the forward strategy discussion on the consequences of the Paris agreement for the EU, issues on EU ETS reform and carbon leakage.

    Developing a pilot framework for a 2°C benchmark for equity portfolios, the 2 Degrees Investment Initiative has been offering confidential equity portfolio checks.     IIGCC's Annual General Meeting

    2016 is the year for implementation and IIGCC is working with the EU and national governments to drive implementation of the Paris Agreement into investment-grade national policies. At the intersection of government policy and investment practices is the issue of corporate lobbying against climate policies that are in the long-term interests of investors and the economy. At this year’s AGM, results will be presented from the IIGCC Initiative on EU Company Climate Lobbying, followed by a candid discussion with some experts from the Brussels policy arena. Please join fellow IIGCC member pension funds and managers from across Europe to share ideas and learn from the investor-led projects to drive the low-carbon transition.

    In this workshop attendees will have a chance to learn how climate change can impact sovereign debt. We will also discuss how to measure the carbon footprint of sovereign debt, and assess the impacts at country level of the transition to a low carbon economy.
